Cycling Skills

Skills classes are my favourite aspect of coaching. I love teaching in general and when it involves bicycles, then it is doubly great. Some of the classes I have put together for cyclists in the past include:
  • bicycle maintenance
  • wheel building
  • trainer sessions

On the road

  • bunch riding behaviour and etiquette
  • descending
  • climbing
  • criterium strategies
  • lead-out trains and other aspects of teamwork

On the dirt

  • cornering
  • body positioning
  • negotiating obstacles
  • drills to make you a better rider

Some classes, such as teamwork, require a group of people to practice with. Others, such as the mountain biking skills, work best with only a few people. In general I will put together a syllabus for any group of 1 to 10 people that come to me with an idea. My climbing and bunch riding classes proved so popular during summer that I had to provide multiple classes each week to keep the group size small enough. If you have a group of friends that wants to improve your cycling together, I am your guy. Together we can work out all the class details such as how many hours and what we intend to cover. I really can’t get enough of this!
